Advanced Freight Partners Group

The Advanced Freight Partners Group (AFPG), convened by the Electrification Coalition (EC), is an industry-driven initiative dedicated to advancing a resilient, efficient, and interconnected freight ecosystem across trucking, maritime, and rail.

As freight networks, energy systems, and technology evolve rapidly, the AFPG provides a forum for leaders to align around practical, scalable approaches that strengthen the business case for investment in innovative freight technologies, infrastructure, and operations, and opportunities to expand the use of alternative fuels and electrification. The group is comprised of manufacturers, infrastructure developers, fuel and energy providers, vehicle operators, logistics firms, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations.

Why This? Why Now?

The freight industry is undergoing rapid transformation. With increasing infrastructure demands, evolving supply chain challenges, emerging energy solutions, and shifting market dynamics, this is a pivotal time marked by both challenges and opportunities.

The AFPG is a response to what we’re hearing and seeing across the sector, including the need to:

  • Break down silos between freight modes, sectors, and technologies;
  • Deploy solutions and advanced freight technologies that drive down costs, improve efficiency by utilizing advanced fuels and powertrains, and enhance reliability;
  • Hold strategic, business-led conversations focused on accelerating the deployment of advanced vehicle solutions and infrastructure in key areas across the country; and
  • Develop and amplify best practices across the freight ecosystem and elevate programs and projects across the country that demonstrate success.
