WASHINGTON—The Electrification Coalition and Sourcewell are excited to announce the relaunch of DriveEVFleets.org: a turnkey, one-stop, online procurement portal for public fleets. This portal enables U.S. and Canadian state and local government agencies and public and private educational entities, from K–12 through higher education, to access competitively solicited contracts for electric vehicles (EVs) and charging infrastructure, as well as information on innovative financing solutions and best practices for EV procurement and deployment.

DriveEVFleets.org harnesses the collective buying power of public fleets to accelerate vehicle electrification. These fleets are often ideal candidates for EV replacement due to high utilization and extended downtime in dedicated depots. These factors can lead to simplified operations and significant fuel and maintenance savings compared to internal combustion engine vehicles.

“Now more than ever, cities and other local public entities play a critical role in driving transportation electrification in the United States,” said Ben Prochazka, executive director of the Electrification Coalition. “By leveraging the services offered through DriveEVFleets.org, public fleets can realize enormous cost-savings both in the short-term and the long-term, as well as local job creation and public health benefits. On a broader scale, cities’ efforts to electrify their vehicle operations can strengthen U.S. economic and national security and signal to the U.S. auto industry that there is critical demand for EVs.”

Since its launch in 2018, nearly 300 communities and public entities operating over 6,000 vehicles have committed to replacing their internal combustion engine vehicles with EVs through DriveEVFleets.org.

To explore the features of DriveEVFleets.org and learn more about how EVs can benefit your fleet, register for our webinar on Thursday, April 17, at 2:30 p.m. ET / 11:30 a.m. PT.
