WASHINGTON—The Electrification Coalition (EC) is proud to announce the release of the EV Funding Finder, a tool to identify federal transportation electrification funding opportunities, made possible by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA),  the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), and other programs that have increased EV and EV charging infrastructure eligibility.

Through the combination of the IIJA and IRA, the U.S. has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to finally end our transportation systems’ dependence on oil. With these transformational policies in place, we can rapidly scale charging infrastructure and create the robust, safe and secure supply chain with our allies needed to build electric cars, buses and trucks to electrify our transportation systems. The opportunity to transition to an electrified transportation future will end our dependence on oil and protect U.S. economic and national security while reducing pollution and emissions that continue to threaten our climate.

The EC’s new tool will make it easy for cities, states, businesses and other partners leverage the investments of recent federal legislation to successfully deploy and accelerate transportation electrification in the U.S. It makes the sometimes complicated matrix of federal funding opportunities easy to access, easy to find and easy to apply, almost as easy as plugging in and charging an electric vehicle.

“We are excited by the tremendous opportunities made possible by the IIJA and IRA to increase electric transportation and end our nation’s dependence on oil for transportation,” said EC Executive Director Ben Prochazka. “Identifying all of these opportunities can be difficult, though. The EV Funding Finder eases the process of identifying and understanding the federal funding available. This will ensure that communities across the country can effectively and efficiently apply for funding and begin implementing electric vehicles.”

The EV Funding Finder can be accessed for free at https://electrificationcoalition.org/ev-funding-finder/. As guidance on these funding streams becomes available, the EC will update the site accordingly.
