National Hire a Veteran Day: Model Programs

Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act, the electric vehicle (EV) industry has seen a significant boost in private investment in recent years. Since 2021, over $154 billion in private investment and more than 144,000 jobs have been announced around the country in the EV and EV battery industry in the U.S.

Veterans are wellpositioned to meet the growing need in the EV industry for skilled, mission-driven, and motivated workers. Veterans are uniquely qualified to fill this gap in the workforce with the skills they gained while serving our country: strong leadership, equipment expertise, and an understanding of the critical nature of supply chain support.

In celebration of National Hire a Veteran Day, the EC has compiled a list of auto/EV industry training programs, governmental and non-profit organizations partnering with companies to hire veterans, and companies with prominent veteran hiring commitments and veteran support programs.

Training & Apprenticeship Programs

The following programs provide technical training to veterans entering the workforce, giving them the skills and tools they need to pursue stable, well-paying jobs following their service.

Government Sponsored & Non-Profit Programs

The following organizations and programs provide services ranging from technical training and professional mentorship to resume building and career fairs to assist veterans entering the workforce.

ECBC Partners with Veteran Hiring Commitments
