ZEV STATE

POLICY SCORECARD

The Electrification Coalition (EC) developed the Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) State Scorecard to provide a single, comprehensive and data-driven ranking of the key policies being implemented in ZEV MOU states to support increased electric vehicle (EV) adoption.

The ZEV MOU states are among the nation’s leaders in policies that accelerate the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles (PEV).

STATE
RANKINGS

The ZEV scorecard underscores the importance for states and regulators to support existing and create new policies to accelerate EV adoption.

By evaluating and tracking ZEV state policy changes over time, the ZEV scorecard will inform the public and policymakers about the most effective policies and programs that are driving the increased adoption of EVs.

ZEV STATE EV
MARKET ADOPTION

The ZEV market analysis shows the total vehicle market share of PEVs in each of the ZEV States. States can further establish and enhance policies that will more effectively support the development of the EV market and facilitate widespread EV adoption.

This analysis indicates the portion of US market share since the introduction of PEVs. Although there are more than 700,000 PEVs on U.S. roads, higher adoption rates are needed to achieve energy security goals.
