EC EVENT CODE OF CONDUCT

To foster a professional and harassment-free environment at Electrification Coalition (EC) events, the following Event Code of Conduct applies to all community members which include attendees, speakers, sponsors, vendors, and staff for the duration of attended events.  

It is the EC’s policy to prohibit intentional and unintentional harassment of or against community members on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, sex or gender (including pregnancy, childbirth and pregnancy-related conditions), gender identity or expression (including transgender status), sexual orientation, marital status, military service and veteran status, physical or mental disability, genetic information or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws (referred to as “protected characteristics”). Such conduct will not be tolerated by the EC. 

At all times, community members are expected to abide by the Code of Conduct, specifically: 

  • Interact with one another with the utmost respect. 
  • Never engage in unwelcome verbal, visual or physical conduct that denigrates or shows hostility or aversion towards an individual because of any actual or perceived protected characteristic or has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s participation at the event or creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment. 
  • Always keep your badge in full view (where applicable). 
  • While photos and some brief recordings for social media purposes is permitted (except when the event is flagged as Chatham House Rules or Off the Record), extensive recording of the event requires written authorization, and the EC reserves the right to interrupt or confiscate unauthorized recordings.
  • Obey all applicable laws and regulations of the relevant government authorities while attending an EC event and comply with all applicable safety guidelines.

Violations of this Code of Conduct should be reported to an EC staff member or can be submitted to jburman@secureenergy.org. The EC will keep the reporting individual’s concerns confidential; however, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed, and the reporting individual’s identity may need to be revealed as the claim is investigated. Anyone, regardless of position or title, determined to violate this Event Code of Conduct will be subject to removal from the event and possibly denied attendance at any future EC event.

Amy Malaki

Amy Malaki is the head of policy and sustainability at SkyNRG and SkyNRG Americas, pioneering global leaders in sustainable aviation fuel production and supply. Prior to SkyNRG, Amy was the associate director for the transportation portfolio at the ClimateWorks Foundation where she developed philanthropic investment strategies to advance a sustainable, equitable and low-carbon mobility system. She also pioneered the organization’s international aviation decarbonization strategy. Prior to that she focused on Asia business development at Better Place, a Silicon Valley electric vehicle network startup. She has a B.A. in Chinese and China studies from the University of Washington and an M.A. in international policy studies (energy and environment) from Stanford University.
