New Leafs runs a shuttle program in its town to transport seniors to and from their doctors’ appointments. With the knowledge that EVs provide cleaner and safer rides for both drivers and passengers, New Leafs wants to electrify its fleet. It should explore the following funding opportunities:
- Commercial Clean Vehicle Tax Credit: Even as a non-taxable entity, New Leafs can qualify for the commercial clean vehicle tax credit. These credits will allow them to purchase electric vehicles at a lower cost upfront.
- Neighborhood Access and Equity Grant Program: New Leafs can apply for funding through the Neighborhood Access and Equity Grant Program to help plan and finance electric vehicles and EVSE.
- Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicle Program: If utilizing medium- and heavy-duty vehicles to transport seniors, New Leafs can qualify for rebates from EPA.
Please note that the case study above is imaginary and that funding pathways will be updated by the EC monthly. Results are comprehensive, but may not be reflective of imminent program changes. EV Funding Finder users should also be sure to inquire about state-specific incentives that could further support projects.
