Electric Street Sweepers – Benefits and Financing

On May 27, 2020, the EC held a webinar to hear from Global Environmental Products and Madvac about their products, the benefits, and how you can take advantage of the contracts available through the Collaborative. The Climate Mayors EV Purchasing Collaborative recently added two street sweeper vendors to the platform to help cities further electrify their fleets. The speakers gave examples of public fleets utilizing their vehicles and how to help fund them, and the Electrification Coalition provided additional information on the technical assistance available through the Collaborative. Electric street sweepers reduce operational costs and harmful emissions compared to a diesel-powered sweeper. In addition, they operate more quietly, which means increased flexibility when scheduling sweeping tasks and reduced overall operational noise.
