WASHINGTON – Electric vehicle (EV) supply chain manufacturing jobs have spread throughout the country, with as many as 235,000 jobs announced with over $200 billion in investments, mostly from the private sector. The Electrification Coalition Alliance (ECA) wants to ensure that Congress and consumers hear that message.

The nonprofit, nonpartisan EV advocacy organization has launched an ad campaign to share that the industry is experiencing significant U.S.-based growth as more consumers are choosing to purchase EVs, and manufacturers are choosing to base their investments in the U.S. Both consumer and manufacturer decisions are largely thanks to a critical federal policy landscape, primarily driven by policies from the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

As lawmakers consider future policy action, the Electrification Coalition Alliance is working to defend existing EV incentives and the significant job growth they have created. The ads are running on billboards in targeted states and digitally.

“Thanks to the generational investments of the IRA and the BIL, the U.S. auto industry is experiencing a renaissance,” stated ECA Executive Director Ben Prochazka. “We launched these ads to demonstrate to constituents the direct impact these policies have on jobs in their communities and to remind their representatives and senators of the critical need for continued leadership to maintain this EV momentum and ensure U.S. competitiveness in the future of the automotive sector.”

The billboards are located:

    • Las Vegas, NV on I-15 near Sunset Road
    • Detroit, MI on I-94 near Merriman Road
    • Pittsburgh, PA on I-70 near Route 18
    • Atlanta, GA on I-75 near Central Ave

“There is a lot of misinformation about EVs out there,” added ECA Senior Director of Campaigns Aaron Viles. “The IRA and BIL include valuable incentives to encourage consumers to consider an EV for their next vehicle, and perhaps more importantly, ensure that we are increasing U.S. and allied manufacturing and supply chains, from critical minerals to final assembly. It’s critical lawmakers support the EV jobs in their states by continuing the policies that have made them possible.”
