Electric Vehicle Adoption Leadership (EVAL)

Program Overview

Workplaces are ideal sites to expand charging access for EV owners who live in multi-family housing or otherwise lack access to home charging, and to build reliable charging networks that help accelerate transportation electrification.

The Electric Vehicle Adoption Leadership (EVAL) certification program aims to advance workplace charging by recognizing the critical role that workplaces play in charging access.

What is EVAL?

EVAL is a U.S.-Department-of-Energy-funded national workplace charging certification program that provides recognition and technical assistance to organizations supporting the adoption of clean transportation. EVAL certification distinguishes employers and workplaces leading the charge to increase energy security, and lower emissions by providing clean transportation options at the workplace.

Employers gain certification points by filling out a questionnaire that assesses their efforts toward promoting clean transportation at their workplaces and supporting employees to travel sustainably. These can include providing EV charging; the promotion of options for carpooling, biking, and public transportation; and incentives for sustainable employee commuting.

All employers, including state, local, or Tribal government entities and community-based organizations/nonprofits, are eligible to apply. View current EVAL-certified organizations.
