Accelerating Ridehail Electrification

Join the Electrification Coalition and Uber on Tuesday, December 16 at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT for a webinar exploring the findings of the newly released white paper, “Electrifying Ridehail in the U.S. and Canada.” Ridehail represents an outsized opportunity for transportation electrification. Because ridehail drivers cover four times the annual mileage of typical motorists and turn vehicles over faster, they are one of the most vital segments for electrification. Notable progress has already been made: EV adoption on Uber’s platform in the United States and Canada is four times higher than the general population. However, scaling this momentum will require stronger coordinated action across government, utilities, and industry. During this webinar, we’ll unpack the key challenges and opportunities identified in the report. While EVs offer low total cost of ownership for high-mileage drivers, barriers such as high upfront costs and limited charging access threaten to stall momentum. Our panel will discuss how targeted policy interventions can bridge this gap.
