EV Readiness Policies and Building Codes

In the first installment of our 2024 Charging Infrastructure Webinar Series, the EC was joined by three guest speakers to discuss the importance of EV make-ready policies and building code modernization as cities take on the EV transition. We learned about best practices from building policy experts, and heard from cities that have implemented these policies. Our speakers highlighted strong local & state examples of the benefits of EV readiness policies and offered guidance on how to advocate for their adoption in your area.

Speakers:

  • Neda Deylami, Vehicle Electrification Manager for the Environmental Defense Fund
  • Matthew Griffin, Buildings and Energy Coordinator for the City of Columbus
  • Beheshteh Makari, Planner for the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments
  • Jordan Neerhof, Senior Policy Analyst for Electrification Coalition
